Apple opens third India store in tech hub Bengaluru

Apple is opening its third retail store in India on Tuesday, September 2, with Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia marking the company’s first physical presence in South India.
• The Bengaluru store will be staffed by 70 team members from 15 states across India and will offer Apple’s complete product lineup including iPhone 16 series, MacBook Pro with M4 chips, and Apple Watch Series 10.
• Apple is projected to sell iPhones worth $12.1 billion in India in 2025, up from $10.8 billion in 2024, with the company’s iPhone market value share surging from 19% in 2022 to 28% in 2024.
• The expansion continues with Apple Koregaon Park opening in Pune on September 4, making it Apple’s fourth official retail store in India following record-breaking performance from the Mumbai and Delhi locations.
• Bengaluru contributes nearly 5% of India’s premium smartphone sales, while the ultra-premium segment (devices above Rs 45,000) grew 37% year-on-year, driven primarily by Apple and Samsung.
Why it matters
Apple’s retail expansion in India reflects the country’s emergence as a critical growth market for the tech giant. With record iPhone sales projected and India’s premium smartphone segment booming, these new stores position Apple to capture market share during the crucial festive season while deepening its commitment to local customers through direct retail experiences.
