In a major breakthrough in electric vehicle technology, Tesla has unveiled its new “Plaid” powertrain, capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in under 2 seconds. The new powertrain, which will be available in the upcoming Tesla Roadster, is a significant improvement over the company’s current fastest model, the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The Tesla Roadster, which is set to be released in 2025, will feature a tri-motor powertrain, producing over 7,000 lb-ft of torque and 1,100 horsepower. The car will have a top speed of over 250mph and a range of over 600 miles on a single charge.

“We are excited to unveil our new Plaid powertrain, which represents a major breakthrough in electric vehicle technology,” said Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. “The Tesla Roadster will be the fastest production car on the market, and we can’t wait to get it into the hands of our customers.”
